Cotton Club

Nanci made this beautiful Cotton Club quilt at The Granary. I think it was a class. Lots of blocks & setting triangles. She really likes variegated thread so I used Signatures "Woodlands" for the leaves in the setting triangles.

Next up will be a little bit of Hawaii, a Batik sampler & Halloween.
Stay tuned. They are all delivered so I can show you.
See you soon.

Memory Lane & It Takes a Thief

Jean made this quilt top when her daughter was young. Luckily she kept it & now her granddaughter will get it. She wanted simple hearts. I think it turned out just right.

Something about it reminded me of Mom. Maybe because Mom used gingham for the background of the baby quilt blocks she made sure were finished before her time was up. Andrew calls the one Joanna has "the lady quilt".

I've been a little pre-occupied this weekend. I got a wake up call from the bank yesterday asking me if I was making multiple online purchases from Facebook & Skype. You know where this is going. Thanks to the great people at Key Banks fraud department. I got all of the false charges back in my account. Sheesh!

I have some fun quilts to show you as soon as the owners get them. Hopefully I'll be blogging more soon!

Sneak Peek

Here's a little sneak peek of Sarah's newest quilt pattern. She's busy working on the pattern. Go check out her blog here to see what she has to say about it.

Here's another one of her quilts. She made it as a sample for The Granary. One of my favorite CA quilt stores.

I drew some lines in the border to make the spider webs. Didn't want to over think this one.

I used King Tut "Rosetta Stone" in the sashing. This kind of reminds me of what my hair will look like soon. Darn that light streak anyway.

Finished off a customer quilt "Cotton Club" yesterday. Also have a batik beauty by Norada waiting to be delivered. I'll have pictures as soon as they get the quilts.

Busy times here. Worked on Hero Quilts today with the group. 13 finished quilts turned in plus 2 that need binding. Our next delivery will take our total over 900 quilts! Such a dedicated group of quilters they are! Thanks you!

Better get busy at something around here. Thinking about holiday baking & Christmas cards already.
It will be here before we know it.

We Interrupt Our Regularly Scheduled Program.....

The sun was shining today & I was pretty sure it would be a good time for a sunset walk at
Camano Island State Park. I was not disappointed.

The last hurrah.

This is looking south. Hat Island is in the middle. The tide was out & the kelp beds were very visible. I watched at least 3 elusive seals playing in them.

If you need to take a drive this weekend come on out. The weather is great! Sun sets around 4:30. Don't be late.

Back to quilting.

There's Been A Whole Lotta Quiltin' Goin' On-Part 1

I have 4 quilts to show you today.  1st up is a t-shirt Debbie made for her son.

Lots of different ways to to quilt them. Liked  how the swirls came out in the grey & black fabric around the blocks.

This quilt is for one of Mr S's coworkers. She saved her nephew's baby clothes. I did all of the piecing & quilting on this one. They are so much fun & I'm sure full of lots of memories of her sweet nephew.

Minkee to keep him warm.

Cindy made this log cabin beauty. Someone will have a beautiful bed for the holidays.

Last up is Sue's fruit & veggie quilt. I'd never seen this pattern before. Love the mix of the baskets & jars. It was very fun to quilt. I just outlined some of the fruit in the baskets. Didn't want to take away from all the great colors.

It might be hard to see but there are peppers quilted in the pepper border. I used this book,

I'll post a few more as soon as I invoice "quilt mountain".

Stay tuned for Part 2. See  you soon.

Retreat Fun

CIQ (Camano Island Quilters) had a retreat this weekend up at Camp Brotherhood. I went as a Day Camper. Sewed like crazy all day. Lots of laughs & good food. Went home at night. The grounds are very nice. The dining room overlooks their farm & gardens.
Sorry ahead of time about the weird lighting. Here are just a few pictures of the fun!

There were puking fabric bins. We used fabric from these to make the Camp a quilt.

Diane & Dawn concentrating. Diane's Kaffe creation is behind Dawn's head. The lovely batik strips were made by Elaine.

Martha amazes us with her strip creations. The single flower blocks have great dimension to them.

Cheryl & Adeline deep in concentration.

Judy & Karin supervising ? cutting. Sorry I blanked out on your name.

Jo sewing away on one of her many projects.

The scrap blocks from the puking tubs that will be a quilt for the Camp.

Addie's aqua pinwheels in the upper right. One of my "I spy" quilts for the Little Misters. I made 2. I just need to put one more border on both of them. More pictures later.

Linda W's dreamy circles. I think she did 48 all together.

One of Judy's Kaffe creations.

Whew. There was lots more going on. Hopefully they will bring their creations to the guild meeting on Wednesday night & I can post an update.

More customer quilt pics too. And I haven't forgotten about showing you the "Dynamic Duo". They were priceless. But that's what all Nanas say.

Be back soon.
