Quick Curve Ruler QAL

Have you seen Jenny's Quilt A Long?

I love the Quick Curve Ruler & knew I had to join in the fun. I found some fabric in my stash . Thank you Stephanie for the black & white I won on your blog. Added a 5" square batik pack from
Aunt  Mary's & bought some delicious lime green solid.

The whole concept is taking a traditional block & adding a curve. There will be 2 blocks each month.

It's not too late to join. In case you'd like to check out what other people are doing head over to the Flickr Group.

I'll have some more customer quilts to show you as soon as they get them.
Have a great week. I'm heading off to quilt camp on Friday & Saturday. Woohoo!

Be back soon.

I'm Back.......

Portland was fun, wet, good food & more wet. I got caught driving in a hail storm. Ugh, not fun. I finally checked another fun quilt shop off of my list. Hollyhill Quilt Shop was all I thought it would be & more. It's in West Linn just south of Portland off of 205. I also helped Wanda from
Heartbeat Quilting at her booth.
Here are few pictures from MQX as promised. I'll apologize ahead of time for not remembering all of the artist's names.

This Zen Kimono was made by Grace Anderson.

There was lots of inspirational quilting.

Congratulations to Cindy Glancy, from our local long arm group who won 1st place for Best Emerging Entrant.

These quilts were fun to look at.
I am so into pink & orange right now. Loved this Snail's Trail.

JoAnn Blade & Kim Diamond won a 2nd place for this stunning seahorse in the computerized category.

More inspirational quilting. The lone star quilting below is computerized. I think it would be fun to try a  freehand version of this.

This was the back of a quilt. I would get locked away in the looney bin if I ever attempted to do this. Good thing there are quilters out there who love this kind of work!

I've never taken a hands on class before & love the results from a class with Jamie Wallen. Talk about inspiring & fun. I can't wait to get this on my machine & play some more. On the bottom left are bleeding hearts.

This bottom row was doing mirror image. Lots of funky curls too.

The best thing that happened was I feel revived & my creative juices got going again.  I have lots of quilts to get to this week & will be back soon with more pictures.
Have a great week & stay warm.

Do You MQX?

One more sleep & I'm off to Portland to MQX. I'm excited about taking a few classes from Jamie Wallen, Judy Woodworth  and Debbie Trevino & recharging my batteries!

You might see me here hanging out with Wanda. Best batting supplier ever!

Heartbeat Quilting, batting, threads, books, pantos, DVD's, machine quilting supplies, wide backings

Will I see you there? Keeping my fingers crosses that I can post pictures on Facebook with my limited technical skills.

It might be a "Mary Poppins" experience the way the wind is blowing. That would make a great blog post!

I will in check back when I get back.

Free Falling

It seemed like today would be a good day to post Marsha's quilt. The pattern is called "Free Falling". Sorry I don't have a better picture of the whole quilt. The leaves are on the top & side of the bargello.

I quilted leaf vines in all the strata rows.

I forgot my camera yesterday, so no pictures from the Long Arm group.
Probably should get outside & rake up all the leaves. The wind has been howling!
Be back soon. Still have more quilts to show you.

The Quiltmobile

This is what my car looked like on Thursday. No room for passengers, just quilts.

You've probably seen this quilt before. "Noel" by Vintage Spools. You can see Jean added a few of her own special touches. A little lavender here & there. Jean's part of The Sassy's. Truly the queens of appliqué! She will add stitching to hold down the big pieces.

Thanks for making such a lovely quilt. It makes my work so much fun!

Going to a Long Arm get together tomorrow. Hopefully will get some good pictures to show you.

Be back soon.

Last Night

Here's what I did last night. No coat required. Very unusual for here.  Different every day.

I'll be taking some pictures of quilts today. Might be showing snippets. Deliveries not happening until later this week. Can't show you the "full meal deal" until the customer sees.

Has anyone seen the Northern Lights this week? I hear they are putting on a spectacular show here in Western WA.

Be back soon.

Happy Birthday(I really can't call you Little Mister anymore)

Back to reality. Wish my time in Nanaland would never end.  It is always very busy & tons of fun!
Here is the birthday boy with his cake. Love Pinterest, so many great ideas!

Big D lasted about 2 seconds in his cape.

At least Andrew tried on the mask.

Here's both costumes. Found 2 t-shirts at the kids consignment store for Big D's Robin shirt. I found all the patterns on Pinterest or Googled what I was looking for. I doubled crepe back satin for the capes. Love that it's completely washable.

It was very warm in CA. 91 degrees the past few days. I am a little chilly right now.
Lots of quilts calling.
I'll be back soon.
