December Quilts Part 1

Jennifer made this modern baby quilt. Some straight line quilting was perfect.

Cindy made this cute baby quilt using some Hungry Caterpillar fabric.

Dawn made this pretty Shakespeare in the Park quilt. Her daughter is the lucky one.

Minke backs can pull through to the front. So dark I used dark thread on the light fabrics.

This is Mary Cee's Asian panel quilt.

Some lucky person in Mary K's family got these quilts for Christmas.

The full moon at the beginning of December put on quite a show. Took this picture on one of my sunset walks at Camano Island State Park.

Busy quilting here. More soon.

Lotsa Dots

It started with a Robert Kaufman FQ bundle, Spot On, in the Shadow Play color way.  This quilt was pieced during a Sew Kind of Wonderful QAL, The Curve It Up Challenge. I did a lot of "Jenny-esc" quilting on it. For the binding I used the Magic Binding tutorial. This was a very fun quilt for me & so outside of the box of what I normally do. Love how it turned out.

*You might want to get a cup of your favorite beverage now. There are a couple links with some great ideas at the bottom of this post.*

If you look close at  the quilting you will see that it is very organic, like me.
Perfect is overrated at my house. If you've been afraid to try this kind of quilting, just go for it!
I used the new QCR Sidekick ruler for the long arm quilting.

The back is very unconventional. A pique that I got from Over The Rainbow during their $1 a yard blowout sale. It couldn't be more perfect!

Aunt Mary's Quilt Shop is using the QCR Curve It Up pattern for their Saturday Sampler. Her sample used aqua, red & black & white. Yummy!
There are 2 places on Flickr to get ideas for your own Curve It Up quilt.

Enjoy!

Back to regular quilting posts soon. I still have more December finishes to show you.

Be back soon.
