The Big Quilts

These were 2 of the BIG quilts that I quilted this past month. It was buzzy busy here.
This first quilt is from Sarah S.  I think it was a Sampler from The Granary Quilt Shop.

The border was quite wide. So I came up with the scallop & double lines.

All the different blocks were really wonderful.

Susan made this big Irish Chain. 118" square!'
I went with a leaf theme.

And a border using the piecing as my guide.

I have more to show you. I promise not to be gone so long next time.
Getting ready for some Little Mister time. It's so nice having them close now.
Hope everyone is enjoying time with family & friends.
Be back soon.

From The Sick Bed

Why is it that just before the holidays some nasty cold knocks you for a loop? 2 days of sleep & I'm feeling better. Here's some of the quilts that have come & gone recently.
Some Seussical magic from Mary.

Grandson #5 gets Jonne's cute antique toy quilt.

Julia made this great Christmas quilt. I think she'd been working on it awhile. Best of all, it's done! I had fun with all the little squares.

Liked this freehand holly border.

Lots more to show you. Just need to upload the pictures.
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. We are headed to the Little Mister's house.
Be back soon.

Spokane Quilt Show 2014

Washington State Quilters
"My Heart Belongs to Quilting"
2014

I've heard about the wonderful quilt show in Spokane, & this year I got to go.
So here's a little of what was there.
500 quilts & over 50 vendors

Loved ow the quilting made tho wall hanging sing.

A fun Mary Lou inspired cow quilt.

Grandma hankies & pillow cases make a lovely memory quilt.

The next 3 pictures are great examples of modern, what I call "divide & conquer", quilting.

A stunning winner.

Another one. Knocked it out park piecing & quilting.

They award ribbons to the machine quilter of award winning quilts.

Made me smile.

More fab piecing & quilting.

Love the modern quilting. Divide & conquer.

Ideas for future quilting. Freehand with stencils.

More modern inspiration.

Just because I liked it.

Save the date for 2015!
October 16-17-18
Will I see you there?
Here's a link to the WSQ Spokane Chapter.

Mr S & I made a long weekend of our trip to the quilt show. Ate at several Diners, Drive Ins & Dives restaurants & this great find(Thank you Wanda) Twigs. Made a quick stop at Grand Coulee Dam & drove over the North Cascade Highway coming home.

I've been busy quilting away here.
I'll catch up soon.

Cedar Boughs & Seahawks

Sally made this great Seahawk quilt using the Freeze Frame pattern by Roxanne Carter.

I quilted Honeycomb on it. Love the texture.

I think this is a Turning Twenty pattern. Cedar bows & cross hatch on this quilt Jonne made.

Mr S & I went to Spokane for a couple days. He is a fan of Diners, Drive Ins & Dives. We ate at a few of them while we were there. For me the highlight was the WSP Spokane Quilt Show. I'll show & tell in my next post. 500 quilts.

Be back soon.
