Quilting, Quilting, Quilting

Here's what I've been up to lately. This is Jennifer's(my mail lady) quilt she made for her hubby.

I was a little worried about the "hairy" minkee back but got lucky & no poking through to the front. Whew!

One of Mr S's coworkers commissioned me to make them a baby quilt.

Norada made "Freeze Frame", a Roxanne Carter pattern. She bought a kit at Gathering Fabric in Woodinville. I love the colors.

And finally a project for me. I am making the amazing Butterfly quilt by Tula Pink. Kristi Willard & I joined forces for inspiration & we are each making one. You can find the pattern here.

I'm using blues, greens & a touch of purple. Mostly from me stash. Woohoo!

Here's Krisit's. Love her colors.

Here's the view from my deck this morning. There's something like this where you live too. You just have to remember to look.

I think the quilting machine is warming up right now. Better get cracking.
Hero Quilt tomorrow with the gang.
Be back soon.

Retreat

My time with Joanna has zoomed by. Going to the quilting retreat with her was a real treat for me. It didn't hurt that the weather was beautiful.
Here's what I worked on.

This is Joanna's quilt that I brought with me. Quilted with "Diamonds Are Forever."

This is my Metro Medallion quilt. I used Kona cotton solids & the prints are from
Art Gallery Fabrics.

Here is Urban Beads. I used a batik pack so 10" squares for this one.

A cute tote. Pattern from Fabrics Plus in Anacortes.

Part of the way done with this cute Christmas tree quilt.

And finally some matching pj bottoms for Joanna & the little Misters.
This Kaufman flannel is so soft. She got it when they were on vacation on Kaui.

Well, that's a wrap for now. Leaving the sunshine & flying home tomorrow.
Quilts are waiting.

Be back soon with more quilts.

Knock, Knock & The Little Misters

Yes, I'm still here. The quilting machine & I have been buzzing along.
Here's what we've been up to.

JoAnn made the first 2 quilts. I thinks she has 15 lucky grand kids.

Did my own butterflies in the print squares.

My favorite Interlocking Daisy for this one.

Elaine made this little applique beauty.

Another Betz Beauty. "Indigo Dreams" from McCall's Patchwork & Quilting. It was a "cover" quilt & she wanted navy thread. Plus it looked like the magazine version was quilted using a computerized machine. The only computer I use for quilting is the one between my ears. This was a challenge & I'm happy with the results.

Barbara B made this mini sampler for a end of bed coverlet.

Jonne's newest grandson will get this yummy flannel quilt.

With a Minkie back! A class I took at MQX from Angela Walters inspired me to try some
modern quilting on it.

Pyhliss' granddaughter Savannah made this next one. Used "Diamonds Are Forever" & Signature "Orange Craze" variegated thread.

Whew, that's all the quilts for now. Waiting for some decent light today for another photo shoot.

Last , but not least, the Little Misters in their Lone Ranger & Tonto Halloween costumes. Found a pattern on e-bay from 1986. One more sleep & I'm off to Nanaland.

Have a great week.

Quilting In The Garden 2013

Here are just some of the quilts from the wonderful quilt show at Alden Lane. So blessed
to go with Joanna this year. Happy Mom!

Joanna with her "buck-a-block" (blue & white) quilt hanging behind her.

The quilt on the far right is one of Joanna's too.

Sandy Klop was the featured quilter this year. All the quilts were incredible. Amazing to see them all hanging from the trees. The nursery is absolutely beautiful & has so many wonderful ideas.
If you ever have a chance when you are in the Bay area stop by.

It's been very busy here. Quilting like crazy, went to MQX, now more quilting like crazy. My friend Pam has a great post about her Portland adventure here

Have a great week. I'll be back soon with pictures from MQX.

Quilt Round-up

Here are some of the quilts I've done in the past month. Jennifer has several friends getting married & made this great Tula Pink Quilt.

This is Sue's Christmas quilt. Holly seemed perfect.

Ruth made this beautiful star quilt for her son. She wanted light quilting & puffy batting. We used Quilters Dream Puff batting.

Linda made this quilt for Lynn & Taryn. She combined Peanuts & Star Wars to make sure they both had their favorite in the quilt. She added pictures  of all the fun things they've done for a personal touch.

This post would not be complete without a picture of the Birthday Boy. His party was very fun & relaxed. That's Daniel standing on the bench. Nana forgot to charge her camera battery, so not too many pictures this time.

Hopefully I will be able to put together a "Quilting in the Garden" post. Maybe a slideshow.
I'm off to MQX this coming week to fill my brain with new quilting ideas.
Stay tuned.
